Since November 1997, ICAP Shipping has acted as the exclusive broker to the Admiralty Marshal, Supreme Court, Gibraltar.

During the depressed market from 1998 through to 2004, the company was responsible for conducting the sales of over 100 ships, ranging from small single deck vessels to very modern container and cruise ships.

Gibraltar is the main gateway to the Mediterranean, and as such is ideally placed as a ship arrest centre.

As the Admiralty Marshal’s broker, ICAP Shipping’s office in Gibraltar is responsible for carrying out a full survey of each arrested vessel, global marketing via a dedicated website, and conducting the auction through sealed bids, either in writing, fax or via the company’s online auction site. Acting under British Law, Gibraltar ensures quick turn-around and settlement of all claims relating to ship arrests.
